realization

over the past couple days I've become more aware and exposed to things that i knew exsisted but...yeah.
today more so than yesterday. this afternoon i went to help out at a soup kitchen with my youth group. and saw some thigs. things i dont normally see in my every-day kind of life. just...the diverse ways of living that people have. one thing that made me particularly sad was the homeless kid who wasn't even over 18. sure we will be on his next birthday...but still. he's a kid.
well anyway, we did a bunch of miscellaneous odd jobs at the kitchen place. in a nutshell: it was great yet awful.
